The Adventure is On

We offer the best inclusive black bear hunt and adventure week in all of central Ontario. The Chapleau Game Preserve is the largest game preserve in the world, with much of the territory off-limits to all hunting. With our management units flanking this vastly undisturbed forest the area provides hunters opportunities to harvest quality and mature animals. Our management units are made up of old forest, logged territories, and rolling berry patches, which is indicative of excellent bear habitat.

Spring black bear hunting takes place from Mid May to early June. That, in combination with the limited number of hunters and hunts offered, provides for an excellent success rate. This is a semi-guided hunt, which allows you to be more involved in the baiting, tracking, field recovery/dressing, and processing of your game. This hunt will require the use of your truck or ATV. Stand sites will be pre-baited, active, and our guides will assist you in recovery and processing. 

With a yearly success rate near 100%, we routinely see and harvest quality Black Bears every year. Bears with a crested chest or cinnamon color phase bears are also sighted on a regular basis.

You will have the week to hunt or fish miles of beautiful Oba River waters, or even take a trip to beautiful Cameron Lake.  We encourage you to purchase a fishing license, as these waterways offer some of the best fishing in all of Canada. There are also opportunities to travel the logging roads in search of a roaming midday black bear, or just go sightseeing in this remarkable country.  Easily ride your ATV/UTV 50+ miles a day exploring different lakes and rivers possibly even find a shed moose antler.  Go one step further and ride to the epic Fire River, it is a full-day adventure but the sites and trout fishing are a must-see for any true adventurer.  You will have the ability to book a guide for any of these full-day excursions.
